Marni Payne and Beth Hoffman Named for the Prestigious GrowthCap Award

Managing Directors Marni Payne and Beth Hoffman have been included on GrowthCap’s list of the Top Women Leaders in Growth Investing for 2023, Berkshire Partners is thrilled to announce.

Payne has made major contributions to the company and its investments in consumer-focused companies ever since he joined Berkshire in 2000. She has overseen the work of several groups and investments in organisations like CrossFit, Aritzia, and Mielle Organics. Payne is actively in a number of charity endeavours, serving as a board member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Payne worked as an Associate at McKinsey & Co. before joining Berkshire. She graduated from Harvard Business School with an M.B.A. after earning her B.A. from Dartmouth College.

Since joining Berkshire in 2003, Hoffman has had a substantial impact on the company and its portfolio firms. With businesses like Masergy, MedOne, Point Broadband, Telx, Tower Development Corp. (TDC), and Vapour IO, she has demonstrated her competence in the firm’s investments in communications and digital infrastructure. Hoffman is a member of the Nominating Committee and the Boston Children’s Hospital Trust.

The Kellogg School of Management Private Equity Advisory Council counts her among its members. Hoffman started her career as an analyst at Morgan Stanley before working for the startup capital firm Sprout Group before joining Berkshire. She graduated from Macalester College with a B.A. and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with an M.B.A.
