Prime Highlights:

BAAS Construction, by Amber Monteith, has closed the highest off-water home sale in Cornelius to date for $3.64 million on a custom 8,000-square-foot home.

BAAS Construction specializes in new home construction and high-end remodels, handling multi-million-dollar projects.

Key Background:

Amber Monteith founded BAAS Construction and rapidly grew her luxury homebuilding business, with a current focus on expansion. This summer, the company achieved a significant milestone by selling a custom 8,000-square-foot home near Lake Norman for $3.64 million. According to data from Canopy MLS, this sale represents the highest-priced off-water home transaction in Cornelius. Located on Rainbow Circle, the home took over 11 months to complete and sold just six months after being listed. “Each of these accomplishments has been a success story for our business,” said Monteith.

She mentioned that, while she purchased a property in Mooresville to flip, she intends to continue developing in Cornelius. Monteith explained that she embarked on this path 20 years ago, when she and her then-husband Howard built their first home in Mint Hill. At the age of 23, she obtained her general contracting license. In 2013, she founded BAAS Construction, named after her four daughters, and has since grown the company to a team of six. Recently, her husband also assumed the role of vice president.

The company builds custom new homes and high-end remodels; it has as many as 8 to 12 projects open at any time. Monteith said he believes he will wrap up 25 projects in 2024, among them are $2.8 million and $6.5 million current build in Davidson, and the remodeling projects range between $150,000 and $1 million.

Monteith has gained respect for the very pragmatic approach she applies to business and for the client focus she retains on her work. She readily accepts that referral forms the greatest bulk of her business but still, continues by insisting that business is best understood if based on the clients and continuous collaborative partnership. She reports seeing her market wanting clean clutter-free homes whose functional spaces in themselves are energy-efficient, modern, and functional. For the future, Monteith sees controlled growth in exploring multifamily homes and possibly getting back into commercial projects. She would like to grow the company but stay personally invested in every project that comes across the company for many years in luxury homebuilding.
