Fraser-Pryce, known as the “Pocket Rocket,” shared her feelings in a statement on Instagram, saying, “I am honoured to receive the 2023 Alumni Exemplar Sports Award from the University of the West Indies at their 75th Anniversary Celebration.” She highlighted the dual pillars of her career, rooted in sports and education, and expressed her dedication to continuing her work with the SFP Pocket Rocket Foundation.
Despite attending the university for only one month, Fraser-Pryce’s impact and achievements have earned her recognition and appreciation. In 2016, she received an honorary doctorate of laws degree from the University of the West Indies and a similar honor from the University of Technology. Her remarkable accomplishments extend beyond the track, as she graduated with honors from the University of Technology in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child and Adolescent Development.
