EbonyLife CEO Mo Abudu to be in Leading position for UK-African Investment Summit

The UK foreign secretary has named Mo Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife Group, as the summit’s “creatives champion” for the next UK-African Investment Summit, which is slated to take place in the UK in April 2024.

In his new position, media mogul and businessman Abudu will connect various players in the African creative sectors.

A first-of-its-kind UK-Nigeria creatives side event will be hosted in London as part of the UK-African Investment Summit to highlight and project the creatives sector in Nigeria and other African nations as well as UK-African cooperation in this area.

The UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, will host the upcoming UK-African Investment Summit in London on April 23 and 24, 2019, which will bring together the heads of state and government of 25 African nations with British and African business leaders.

It occurs at a time when several African nations are paving the way for the continent to become a global powerhouse in fields including music, film, fashion, literature, visual arts, and design.

The summit’s objectives include fostering growth, fostering ties between the UK and Africa, supporting talent in fields like finance and technology, and promoting female entrepreneurs.

The announcement was made earlier this week at the Creative Industries event at the residence of the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos by James Cleverly, the UK’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs.

As part of a three-nation African trip that also includes Ghana and Zambia, Cleverly is currently in Nigeria. There is no better moment to start than right now, according to Abudu, who noted that there is still more work to be done to advance the creatives industry.

“In order to stimulate collaboration, creativity, and revolutionary advancement in the creatives area, I am looking forward to meeting with the various stakeholders in our sector across the continent, “ she said.
