Jim Thompson, the city manager of Scottsdale, announced the employment of three managers on March 13. Of them, “two were selected from our outstanding pool of over 120 applicants for assistant city manager positions.”
“They will strive to make our city an even better place for everyone,” he added of the incoming managers.
After serving as the city manager of Prescott for ten months, Katie Gregory was appointed general manager of WestWorld and relocated to Scottsdale.
She had previously spent 22 years working for the city of Peoria in a variety of capacities, including deputy city manager.
“The current events and activities at WestWorld are first class,” Gregory said, “and with planned improvements, I am excited for new opportunities to expand the programming.”
The new director of Economic Development for Scottsdale is Teri Pace Killgore.
She just finished her tenure as the assistant city manager in Walnut Creek, California. She was the Bay Area city’s director of Economic Development before taking on that position.
She managed Chandler’s downtown renovation for six years before moving to California.
“I’m thrilled to join the iconic city of Scottsdale in a role that works with the amazing Economic Development team to bring even more high-quality jobs and investment to the community,” Killgore said.
After serving as the assistant city manager in Bozeman, Montana, for a year, Kira Peters, the new director of Human Services, has returned to Scottsdale. She worked for the city of Scottsdale for more than thirty years.
Peters is the creator and board member of The Women’s Collective, a nonprofit organization that aims to inspire and elevate women leaders. She is returning to Scottsdale for personal reasons.
“I’ll be returning to Scottsdale from my year-long tenure in Bozeman with more knowledge in hand than when I left,” said Peters. “I’m thrilled to be working again with the dedicated Human Services team to provide resources, programs and services to the community that I call home.”
