Key Background:

Chief, the influential women’s networking group, has announced the appointment of Alison Moore as its new CEO. Moore, who has over two decades of leadership experience in technology, media, and entertainment, will succeed Carolyn Childers, the company’s current CEO and one of its co-founders. Childers will transition into a new role as Chairman of the Board. Lindsay Kaplan, the other co-founder and Chief’s current Chief Brand Officer, will also step into a new role as a Director on the Board. These changes will be effective starting February 3, 2025.

The leadership transition marks a significant milestone for the organization, which has seen rapid growth since its founding in 2019. Chief now boasts a national membership network that includes women from over 10,000 companies, with 77% of the Fortune 100 represented. The group also operates physical locations, known as “clubhouses,” in major cities including New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

In a statement, Childers expressed pride in the organization’s impact, noting that the decision to hand over the CEO reins to Moore was made after careful reflection. She highlighted Moore’s track record in driving innovation and aligning with the organization’s mission as the key reasons for her selection. “Her ability to drive innovation where it’s needed, while staying true to a company’s purpose, made her the ideal leader to carry Chief forward,” said Childers.

Moore, who joined Chief as a founding member, emphasized the power of the community in enabling women leaders to connect, grow, and catalyze change in their professional journeys. Prior to joining Chief, Moore led Comic Relief US for five years, further solidifying her credentials for her new role. This leadership change comes as Chief continues to empower women in leadership positions, fostering connections that help drive personal and professional growth across industries.
