I-Train Provides Mentoring to Entrepreneurs and Professional Women

I-Train Africa, an ed-tech social enterprise, is organizing ‘The Leading Women,’ an edition of the Global Mentorship Programme, to address the underrepresentation of women and empower women entrepreneurs and professionals through mentorship and collaboration. Aderinsola Adio-Adepoju, the founder of I-Train Africa, stated that the hybrid event would address systemic challenges limiting the career advancement opportunities for African women across sectors and institutions. The theme, ‘Nurturing Half of The Global Population to Lead,’ aligns with the organization’s mission to contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4, 5, and 8.

The event aims to unite over 30,000 women from 40 African countries, offering networking opportunities and mentorship guidance from over 40 speakers representing over 20 nations. The conference has received support from Gregory Pepper, CEO of Potentialife Foundation, which is partnering with I-Train Africa. Pepper mentioned that the partnership aligns with one of the foundation’s core pillars, and they are offering a 13-week free leadership program to 2,000 women who participate the most during the conference.

The Global Mentorship Conference (GMC) – The Leading Women Edition is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 14, in Lagos. The event is expected to accelerate the positive trend of African women making significant strides in various industries, particularly in senior management and corporate board memberships. It seeks to provide a robust platform to propel African women into positions of influence, leadership, and global decision-making, contributing to tangible change and empowering women to shatter glass ceilings, forge new paths, and redefine leadership paradigms across all sectors.
