Aviatra Accelerators president Jill Morenz recognized the problem: “A lot of women are running their businesses out of a home or pretty informal environments simply because the environment is so expensive.” Her model of going to coffee shops to meet clients instead of a traditional office space leaves an economic gap that her organization seeks to fill by offering services at below-market rate.

It has been indicated through research by the Institute for Local Self-Reliance that such rent can skyrocket as high as 7% to 26% yearly in highly sought-after areas. Aviatra takes a step forward in mitigating this challenge by avowing the advantage of below-market rents to its female entrepreneur tenants so they will not need to fight the constant rise in costs and focus more on business growth.
Zigoris, the newly announced incubator, says “The six-month lease gives me flexibility to evaluate the space and eventually transition to a permanent location within the community.” She expressed her desire to remain actively engaged in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
